Colon polyps in children

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: to analyze the experience of pediatric patients with polyposis of the colon.

PATIENTS AND METHODS: In our publication we present our experience in treatment children with colon polyps, aged 1 to 17 years. The clinic, diagnostic methods and optimal treatment tactics are described. Patients with adenomatosis (n = 38) and juvenile polyposys (n = 16) are presented in details.

RESULTS: Options for surgical intervention are described, taking into account morphological analysis and examination data (colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis and formation seromuscaler cylinder (n=8), colproctectomy with enteric reservoir formation (n = 10)), treatment results are presented too.
CONCLUSIONS: the detection of colonic polyps requires a wide range of examinations and treatment tactics depends on a clear understanding of the nosological form of colonic polyposis, which allows to determine the optimal period and variant of surgical treatment.
